Technique - Punch It Out Owl Card

Hello Friends!

LOVE LOVE LOVE our punches!!  This is just one of many adorable Owl ideas using punches! Thanks to Meg & all the other girls at my upline's meeting that swapped with me even though this time, I didn't bring any.  My Stampin' Sisters ROCK!!! xoxoxo 

Materials Used:

Stamp Set: Fresh Cuts

Cardstock: Barely Banana, Basic Black, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Pumpkin Pie & Whisper White

Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip

Punches: Scallop Edge, Large & Small Ovals, 1 3/4" Circle (for body), Scallop circle & 1 3/8" Circle (for wings), Boho Blossoms (for feet & beak), 3/4, 1/2, & 1/4" Circles (for eyes) and Round Tab (for head)

Halloween Project III - Tick or Treat Boxes

Hello Friends,

Today I'd like to share some cute Treat Boxes & Mini French Fry Boxes I made for Halloween.  If you read my previous post about the adorable little Princess that was SO impressed with my Halloween Treats I gave out last year... She received the little box filled with mints:)

Materials Used:

Classic Ink: Basic Black, Garden Green

Cardstock: Basic Black, Lavender Lace, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White

Designer Series Paper

Punches: 1 1/4 & 1 3/8 Circle Punches, 1/16"Hand held Punch & Scallop Circle 

Accessories: Snail Adhesive, Dimensionals, Silver Brads, Grosgrain Ribbon, Paper Snips, Paper Cutter, & CANDY!

Decore Elements - Season of Thanks Frame

Hello Friends,

As I shared with you in a previous post, Stampin' Up! showed us the Spooky Spider Glass Jar during this years convention and I'd really LOVE to know the percentage of demonstrators that did the same idea!  I know it would be truly astonishing!

Well, they also shared an awesome Thanksgiving Decoration. Just the other day, demonstrators were able to preorder a few things from Decor Elements Phase II which will be available to the public on Oct 1.

For this decoration you will need a shadow box (size depends upon the size of "Season of Thanks" Decor Elements you purchase), along with artificial fall flowers, pumpkins, apples etc. You will be placing the 'Season of Thanks' on the top of the glass of a shadow box and inside the box is where you will put your colorful artificial flowers, leaves, pine cones, apples etc...

Isn't this just darling!!

I'll be sure to post my version when I get my order and make it, which will be within the next week:) 

I will post the link to purchase this and many other awesome Decor Element products that are in our Phase II, on Oct 1.

Who won't want to make this beautiful keepsake decoration to Keep AND for gift-giving??

Decor Elements - Decorating & Removing

Hello Friends,

I'd love to say, I did this just for you... so I could do a tutorial on How To Put Decor Elements up & one on 'How To Remove Decor Elements'. But that isn't the case.  After putting the Create Definition up on my wall, my darling husband said, he wants to repaint this room... YIKES!!!

I used my hair dryer on low, to warm the vinyl on the wall and it came off like a charm. It was very easy to remove.

This post will have more 'chat' then normal... LOL, What's normal? can anyone really define the word normal?

On September 11, just 12 days ago, my friend Erika started my first blog for me, which I called... Stampin' & Scrappin' at the Shore.  I really loved the name. I live at the beautiful New Jersey Shore, hence that is where I stamp & scrap!

Now mind you, for over 6 months I had been trying to come up with a cool & catchy name, 'just in case' I decided to start a blog! I've never been called Speedy Gonzales... LOL Well, it wasn't a cool name, but it was quite fitting and I loved it:)

Of course I was worried once I started that blog, I would come up with 'the' COOL & CATCHY name.  And don't you know it, I did. I can't even remember where I was on the net but I was staring at a screen of words and all of a sudden I put two words together accidentally, that were not together in any article I was reading! It was Stampin' and Press.  Well, a light bulb went ON!!!  OMG!

Okay I'm sure you see what I see but...

Stampin': I'm a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and when I stamp, I stampin 'the ink pad' ...right:) And I need directions for everything and I still get lost!!!  LOL

Press: You 'press' after you stampin "the ink pad" and I found out quickly with my blog I love to chat in my posts, hence Press Release...

Both my passions are in this name, quite fitting for me:) So... Welcome to Stampin' Press!

All of my posts will have a creative project in them.  Some journaling will be sparse, others more descriptive and some with a short but entertaining story. (grin)

The Move:

The move here was extremely s-m-o-o-t-h... especially since Erika did 'it' again!!! AND... she's still talking to me:)  She will be teaching me the how to's also.  She's a great teacher, but for now, she did the 'leg work'.  Isn't she wonderful, as  you can see she's is very talented.  And check out my Sideburns... more to come too! Yes, I know you call them sidebars, but I call them sideburns:) I wrote up a list of what I want on my left sideburn and what I want on my right side burn... They may be rather l-o-n-g, but that's okay since my 'face' posts will be too.. And long is slenderizing, so that works!! tee hee THANK YOU So Much E!

Since the change:

I've been typing feverishly since we changed my Blog name today to retype my posts, here.  Since I was in the trial period on typepad, was paying monthly and had only posted 7 times since day one, it was a great time to do it.

But no worries, I'm here to stay! I love my new home! I can't wait to have an Open House, and Celebrate my Blog Birthdays... and and and and! OMG, the ideas are filling my head... it's so exciting! Does anyone have a brown paper bag... (ha ha ha)

Okay, go take a nap, I think you need one after this post!

Technique - Punch It Out Sesame Street Card

Isn't this card just darling? I love creating fun and fresh ideas with our punches and thought you would enjoy this idea. What do you think?

Many of my customers ask me, Lois how in the world do you come up with all your awesome ideas and projects.  I always answer honestly and tell them, some ideas are my own, and it's an awesome feeling when I am CASED, not the other way around... (wink)

But both are compliments!

I also tell everyone that as a SU! Demonstrator, I am privied to what we call Stamper's Showcase on the business side of the SU! Website. Each day SU! posts ideas to help both their Hobbyists  & Business Leaders. 

Many of these ideas are shared by fellow demonstrators.  We also have an awesome Template area where we literally have hundreds of ideas to CASE or tweak!  So it's easy to say we have thousands of ideas... creative & business wise from Stampin' Up!   

Tip: CASE - means Copy and Stamp Everything!

Home Decor Elements - Life Is Good Leather Bag

Hello Friends!

Okay, I must confess, I'm hooked on Stampin' Up!'s Home Decor Elements.  I've never found it easier or faster to decorate so  many mediums until NOW! Our stamp sets, cardstock & accessories coordinate with many of our Decor Element Images to assist with finishing up a gift tag, card & decorative packaging.

I found this adorable Riding Hood Red/Chocolate Chip colored faux leather bag at Home Goods, in New Jersey.  It TOTALLY matched our Chocolate Vinyl Decor!  Isn't it awesome when things just work and fall right into place perfectly?  (peaceful grin)

I chose a different style of glass jar to use which I purchased at Home Goods in New Jersey.

I placed white paper inside the jar so you can see the image better, but isn't the second picture way more inviting... You can SEE the candy!!! LOL  I hate to repeat an old adage, but I must... "If I can do it, You can too!" (grin)

Halloween Project II - Frankenstein Card

Hello Friends,

Today I'd like to share Frankie with you.  Isn't he adorable?

Materials used:

SS: Smarty Pants

CS: Basic Black, Silver Metallic, Lovely Lilac, Mellow Moss, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black Pad & Marker

Punches: 1 3/8”, 1 ¾” Circle Punch, Key Tag & Word Window

Accessories: Paper Scissors, Dimensionals, Crimper, White Gel Pen, Finger Sponge Daubers, Snail Adhesive,

TIPS:

- Card size: Lovely Lilac 5 ½ x 4 ¼ (Trim front of card to 2 ¼ for bangs, then use scissors for haircut)

- Eyelids: Punch out one Mellow Moss 1 ¾” Circle Punch, use Sponge Dauber around edges and cut in half with Paper Cutter to make them even.

- Nose: Punch out one Mellow Moss 11 3/8” Circle Punch, use Sponge Dauber around edges and cut in half with Paper Cutter, you will be using only one half for the nose.

- Screw: Crimp a small piece of silver cardstock using our Paper Crimper and then use our Word Window Punch.  Cut the Word Window piece in two using our paper cutter to have two even pieces.

- Punch out a piece of silver cardstock using our Key Tag Punch, then cut it in half using our paper cutter. Use ‘finger’ Sponge Dauber and flick Basic Black Ink around the edges for a rustic old looking Screw. Now adhere the Word Window and Key Tag pieces together to create your Screw using Glue Dots, then adhere to card using Glue Dots.

- Please Note: When mounting the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Smarty Pants, I tweaked it a little bit.  The stamp that had "Good.Friend" is above the word "-Frankenstein" . I chose to mount them on two ends of the wood so I could stamp each saying or word when I wanted to without having to do the Omitting Technique.
