Today, I'm made a Spring Shadow Box Card to get my mind off of my Sammy (6 year old beagle) who is having eye surgery. I dropped him off about 9:30 AM this morning. I have one more hour until I can call the vets to see how he's doing and when I can pick him up.
He has what is called 'Cherry Eye'. It's when a beagle's tear gland, swells adn pops out. It is reddish and is the size of a pea. It's been out for 7 weeks now, that is why we are having it surgically fixed. It is inflamed and bothering my poor little one. Sammy has been so good for 7 weeks as I drop eye drops in his eyes 2 times a day, but the drops didn't help...
Please say a prayer for him. If this doesn't work, we will have to have his tear gland removed, but then there is a chance he will get 'dry eye', which as you can image, wouldn't be good for a doggie... He would need drops in his eyes often.... to keep them moist. But I am not going to think about that. I'm hoping this surgery will do the trick and he will be A-Okay!
This is only the second time he had a Cherry Eye, the other time the gland went back into his eye socket after a few days.
Here is Sammy and below is the card I just made to try to pass the time... until I can call to see how he did... Billy and I have been hugging each other all day missing this little bugger! But soon he will be back home :)
Have a great evening!
